To:John, Congratulations on an outstanding site! I have a correction for you concerning my great great grandmother Nancy Ann German, daughter of Daniel W. German: Her husband was Henderson Board Horsley, son of William Burrel Horsley and Nancy Shrewsbury, not Burrel Horsley. The Burrel Horsely who died in 1963 was probably her son Daniel William Burrel Horsley (named after both his grandfathers) who was a prominent attorney who lived into his nineties. He was known as D.B.Horsley and in 1956 he submitted a genealogical chart to the Benton County (Arkansas) Historical Society which I obtained a copy of about a year and a half ago from the Rogers (Arkansas) Historical Museum. I also have a newspaper clipping of Nancy Ann German Horsley's obituary as well as one for her husband Henderson Board Horsley who died in 1910 which identifies her as his wife. Nancy Ann's daughter, Lucie Stone Horsley, was married to my great grandfather John William Rogers in Rogers, Arkansas in 1892. Lucie was a good friend of the wife of humorist Will Rogers (no known relation). When she came out to California to visit her daughter (my grandmother) Winifred Davis Rogers, they, including my mother Betty Lou Carpenter, would go out to Will Rogers' Ranch for visits. Lucie died in 1940 in the same house where I lived as a baby in Beverly Hills, California. I'm probably telling you more than you want to know. By the way, can you tell me who are the parents of Mary Clark French, Daniel W. German's first wife, and was Caroline French Mary's sister? Hoping to hear from you soon, I remain a fan of your website, Roger Rochlen P.S. Do you have any information about Daniel W. German's involvement in the CIvil War?
DEATH: 1963 must be a typo - perhaps 1936 was intended?
